Czech Republic has a long term engagement with Ethiopia, enjoying an on-the ground presence since 2001. In 2011, Ethiopia has become one of the priority countries of the Czech Development Cooperation.
The Interventions are framed by the Bilateral Development Cooperation Program of the Czech Republic in Ethiopia, spanning for five years until 2023.
Czech Republic aims to assist Ethiopia in achieving sustainable and equitable economic growth as well as to ensure higher employment and self-reliance in line with the Ethiopian government’s development policies.

Czech Development Cooperation supports the implementation of the Government’s development plan (Second Growth and Transformation Plan) as well as other strategies such as Climate Resilient Green Economy, Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture, Community Based Participatory Watershed Management, and Water Resources Management Policy.
